Rachet or Battery Torque Tools: Are Your Cable Tie Downs Secure?

The trucking and rail industry are steeped in history, commerce and patriotism.

However, flatbed transit has had significant challenges when it comes to securing heavy loads with cable tie downs.

Old school ratchet mechanism has long been practiced to secure items such as steel, lumber and machinery on the backs of trucks or rail cars. This procedure is not only difficult, it’s flat out dangerous.
Pulling a long pipe onto the end of an archaic rachet is perilous for your worker because they could easily slip, fall and become injured.

Also, there are too many unknowns using a rachet to tie down cables. It is difficult to be sure what torque is being applied. To use a bit of hip-hop slang, ratchets are just that, ratchet.

Enter the B-RAD  1000-2.  With a simple pull of the trigger, the B-RAD Battery Torque wrench applies the specific torque.   This dual speed torque tool will spin on high speed to quickly take up the loose wind up cable before it slows down and becomes tight.

Also, because is it small and portable, the B-RAD 1000-2 can conveniently take care of cable tie downs on trucks and rail cars all over a mammoth yard.

Typical tie-down applications are between 300-600ft/lbs.  The B-RAD 100-2 has a torque range of 200-1000 ft/lbs making it the optimal tool for the job.  You can be confident that your loads on your flatbeds and railcars will arrive securely and safely.
